Iyabó White Bow Tie
Learning about various processes of Santeria was an eye opener during our trip to Cuba. And we couldn't create a collection without adding this white on white paisley piece!
When people begin the week-long initiation process into Santería, they symbolically die and are reborn. New initiates are called Iyabó (or novices as they are new initiates). Most iyabós are immediately recognizable because they dress head to toe in white and cover their head with a scarf or hat. The white represents purity, peace of mind and spiritual clarity.
All bow ties are made as ordered which means that pattern placement may vary slightly from the pictured item. Also, some hues may vary based on computer screen/resolution. We only use high quality 100% cotton and pay much attention to quality and detail in the sewing of our items.
